Expert Committee: Monographs—Small Molecules 3
In accordance with the Rules and Procedures of the Council of Experts, the Monographs—Small Molecules 3 Expert Committee intends to revise the Sodium Bicarbonate monograph. The purpose for the revision is to modify the test for Limit of Ammonia as follows:
- Revise the Signal-to-noise ratio requirement for ammonium ions from NLT 75 to NLT 20.
- Under the Chromatographic system, indicate that a 2-mm suppressor should be used.
- Add a note in the description of System suitability stock solution B to indicate that the solution may be prepared using a commercially available NIST traceable ion chromatography ammonium ion standard solution. This allows consistency with the Standard solution.
It is anticipated that the revision will be published as a Revision Bulletin on July 31, 2015 and become official on August 1, 2015, pursuant to section 7.02 of the Rules and Procedures.
